About Annette

I've been a writer my whole life.

It started with a Girl Scout council newsletter and the occasional article for my local city paper. It grew into an advertising degree, then a content business — All Custom Content — that I built from the ground up. Just me at first, then a team of twelve writers, editors, and project managers serving clients across nearly every industry you can name. For fifteen years I wrote books, courses, blog posts, magazine articles, and digital programs for self-employed business owners and small companies who needed words that worked.

I loved all of it. But I loved the healthcare content most.

In 2015 I made a decision that surprised some people. I could see the content landscape shifting and I wanted to future-proof my ability to support my family. My mother had been diagnosed with dementia and watching our family navigate her care gave me a profound respect for what skilled, compassionate healthcare actually looks like up close. I went into long term care specifically because of her. I wanted to understand that world from the inside.

So I went to nursing school — while keeping All Custom Content running. I continued writing and managing the business through nursing school and into my first years working bedside as a nurse. When I found my current role five years ago writing accredited clinical education for nurses, I knew I'd found the intersection I'd been moving toward my whole career — clinical expertise and professional writing, finally in the same place.

Today I work as a subject matter expert writer creating accredited continuing education for nurses — from regulatory updates and clinical skill courses to complex, story-based interactive programs on topics like active shooter response, SDOH in ambulatory care, and quality improvement. One of those courses was recognized with a Brandon Hall Group Excellence in Technology Award, one of the most respected honors in the learning and development industry. I write for nurses because I know that what they learn translates directly into better patient care. Every lesson matters.

Which brings me to you.

Health coaches change lives. I've been one — I know firsthand how many hats you wear, how much is demanded of you behind the scenes, and how the writing and content creation can feel like the thing that never gets done well because your real gift is the coaching itself. You didn't build your expertise to spend your days staring at a blank page.

That's where I come in.

I bring 20+ years of health and wellness experience, a nursing license, a certification in medical editing from the American Medical Writers Association, a deep specialization in adult learning principles, and nearly two decades of ghostwriting experience to every project I take on. I write courses, digital programs, books, and content that sounds like you — because I take the time to understand not just what you know, but how you think, who you serve, and what you want your clients to walk away feeling.

My goal is simple. If the content I create for you makes your job easier and helps more people improve their lives — then we've done something that matters.

That's worth getting right.
